Authentic First Discoveries in Seoul

Welcome to Corée du Sud! After clearing customs and collecting your luggage, your private driver will be waiting to take you to your accommodation (approximately 1 hour drive from the airport).
Upon arrival, a member of our team will welcome you for a travel briefing, with the delivery of your essential documents. You will receive in particular our Roadbook (visit ideas), as well as the complete presentation of your digital itinerary via our application, which summarizes your accommodations, inter-city transfers and planned activities. Your T-Money transport card and other essential documents will also be provided to you to travel with peace of mind. Of course, we will take the time to answer all your questions.

Then set off to discover Seoul.
Founded two thousand years ago by the Baekje kingdom, Seoul was the capital of the Joseon kingdom for more than five centuries. At the end of the 19th century, it opened to foreigners, notably to the United States, and became the first city in East Asia to introduce electricity, running water, telephony and a tramway network. Despite a past marked by conflicts, it recovered thanks to the strength and solidarity of its people, modernizing rapidly. The Namsan Seoul Tower, perched on its hill, today offers an impressive panorama over the megacity.

Both north and south of the Han River, modern technologies and local traditions coexist harmoniously, creating atmospheres worthy of Korean films. The change of scenery is immediate and everyone finds their own pace. Even if a few days are not enough to fully explore the capital, you will be quickly immersed in the unique energy of this welcoming country.

For your first discoveries, head to the Jongmyo Shrine, listed as a UNESCO World Heritage site, before heading to the traditional Gwangjang Market. There, you will be able to taste typical Korean specialties, in a decidedly local atmosphere.

End this day with a night stroll along the Cheonggyecheon Stream, once an expressway, now transformed into a peaceful and pleasant waterway.

Seoul chic and modern between temples and technologies

Many visits are possible in the Gangnam District, from the COEX Mall shopping center to the Seonjeongneung royal tombs, passing through the Bogeunsa temple.

You will discover Samsung D'light, a fun exhibition space dedicated to the latest technological innovations from the Korean giant, as well as Coex Mall, the largest shopping mall in Asia. With its 154,000 m², it is divided into different zones and offers a wide choice of attractions: kimchi museum, large aquarium, huge library, varied shops and Korean or international restaurants.

The Bongeunsa temple, one of the major centers of Buddhism in Corée du Sud, offers you a moment of calm in the heart of the city. Surrounded by peaceful gardens, it is particularly known for its monumental statue of Maitreya, the buddha of the future, which dominates the site at a height of 28 meters, with its gaze turned towards the modernity of Seoul.

The visit continues to the Seonjeongneung royal tombs, ideal for a pleasant stroll in the park, before heading to Apgujeong Rodeo, an upscale district often considered the "Mecca" of fashion. You will find a wide selection of department stores, symbols of South Korean consumerism, as well as an unmissable cultural area.

Strolling through Yeouido, by the Han River

This morning, stroll along the Han River.

Located in the center of the capital, Yeouido Island was originally Seoul's first airport, inaugurated in 1924 under Japanese colonial rule. Today, it has become an important business district, bordered by vast green spaces conducive to walking or cycling, offering a pleasant escape from urban hustle and bustle.

The discovery begins with the National Assembly and its distinctive architecture. Its imposing pillars and dome symbolize the different opinions that unite into a common whole.

You will then continue towards Yeouido Park, a true green lung of the city. This ecological park, the first of its kind in Korea, spans nearly 230,000 m² and consists of four distinct zones where Koreans come to relax and recharge.

Don't miss Tower 63, the district's emblem. Remarkable for its size and numerous attractions, it houses an aquarium (Sea World), an art gallery, a wax museum and regularly offers shows and musical performances. From its observatory located on the 60th floor, you enjoy a panoramic view of Seoul and the Hangang River.

Hiking and Breathtaking Views at Seoraksan National Park

Séoul → Seoraksan

2h30190 km

This morning, take charge of your rental vehicle equipped with a pre-programmed GPS, then head towards the Seoraksan National Park.
Located in the northeast of Corée du Sud, the Seoraksan mountain is the third highest in the country, after the Hallasan volcano and the Jirisan mountain. It peaks at 1,708 m at the Daecheongbong peak and reveals spectacular landscapes: marked cliffs, waterfalls, crystal-clear streams, as well as rich fauna and flora.

The name Seoraksan means "the mountain with a snowy peak", in reference to its appearance in winter. The park offers a wide variety of accessible hiking trails, most of which can be completed in a few hours, for an immersion closer to Korean nature.

The first national park designated in 1970, Seoraksan is also recognized as a UNESCO biosphere protection site since 1982. It is home to around thirty peaks and several must-see places: Ulsanbawi Rock and its granite peaks offering panoramic views, the Geumgang cave, a place of worship and contemplation, as well as the Sinheungsa temple, considered the oldest Zen temple in Corée du Sud.

Hiking is a very popular activity in Corée du Sud, and Seoraksan offers some of the most beautiful trails in the country, to be discovered in every season.

Today, we head to the east coast of the Korean peninsula to discover Gangneung.
Gangneung is one of the largest cities on the east coast and a highly sought-after destination in summer. It is home to numerous historical relics and well-preserved traditions. Located in the Gangwon and Eastern Mountains province, it played an important role during the Koryo dynasty.
During your stay, you can visit the Confucian schools of Gaeksamun and Ojukheon, as well as several cultural remains bearing witness to its rich past.
Gangneung is also renowned for its beaches, including the largest and certainly the most beautiful on the east coast, with its fine sand and azure blue sea. Every summer, they welcome families and travelers who come to enjoy the sun and the festivals organized in the region.

Not far away is Yangyang, a seaside town considered the "Mecca of surfing" in Corée du Sud. It is the ideal place to learn surfing or simply relax in the sun with a cocktail at one of the many beach bars. As night falls, the festive atmosphere continues with DJs and lively evenings that have made Yangyang famous among Korean youth.

A remarkable place, nestled in the heart of nature.

Immersion in Korean Traditions and Gastronomy

Danyang → Andong

1h45110 km

Today, embark on a discovery of Andong, a genuine Korean cultural center and birthplace of still vibrant folkloric traditions.
You will visit the famous traditional village of Hahoe, inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage list. Renowned for its rustic accommodation with local families, it welcomes you in houses with wooden beams, for an authentic immersion in ancient customs.
Hahoe is also known for its mask performance, a traditional dance practiced for 800 years, blending shamanistic rituals and popular entertainment. Originally, this ritual aimed to please the local goddess and ward off evil spirits. A Hahoe Mask Museum is also dedicated to this ancestral art.

Andong was a pioneering city of Confucian thought during the Joseon Dynasty (1392–1897). You will be able to visit the Byeongsan Seowon Confucian School, recognized both for its history and for the beauty of its site and traditional architecture.
The city is also renowned for its gastronomy. Among its specialties, you will discover Andong soju, a rice spirit distilled three times, considered an intangible cultural property as it is prepared according to an ancestral recipe. Also taste Andong Gan Godeungeo (salted mackerel), Andong Jjimdak (braised chicken) and Heotjesatbap, a healthy and balanced dish similar to bibimbap, traditionally served during ceremonies for ancestors.

Gyeongju, UNESCO-Listed Historical Treasures

Andong → Gyeongju

1h45130 km

A charming city in the southeast of the Korean peninsula, Gyeongju is scattered with small mountains and bordered by the Hyeonsan River.

Former capital of the Kingdom of Silla founded in 57 BC, it ranks among the oldest historic cities in the world and stands out for its cultural heritage, now inscribed on the UNESCO World Heritage List. Rich in remains and relics, the city is often considered a true gem of South Korea.

Discovery of Bulguksa and Seokguram, Sacred Treasures of Gyeongju

Today, explore two major sites listed as UNESCO World Heritage, located in the mountains surrounding Gyeongju: Bulguksa Temple and Seokguram Grotto. The beautiful walk connecting these two places allows you to enjoy natural landscapes and is well worth the detour.

Nicknamed the "temple of Buddha's lands", Bulguksa Temple is a symbol of the Silla Kingdom and holds an important place in Korean Buddhism. Its complex geometric construction illustrates the passage from the earthly kingdom to Buddha's sacred realm, which makes its architecture so distinctive and renowned.

The grotto Seokguram, considered a masterpiece of Far Eastern Buddhist art, is an artificial grotto made up of hundreds of granite blocks, a stone that is particularly difficult to carve. It is accessible through a tunnel that leads to a rectangular antechamber representing the Earth, then a vestibule flanked by two columns leading to the large circular chamber, symbol of the sky, where the central Buddha statue is located.
